What Centre for Therapy is

Centre for Therapy is an online information and discovery resource. It provides guides, editorial content, and a directory of therapist profiles to help people find a therapist that may be a good fit for their needs. It also provides therapists with a free, professional public profile to support their practice.

By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What Centre for Therapy is not

  • Centre for Therapy is not a clinical or medical service. It does not provide therapy, counselling, psychological assessment, crisis intervention, or any form of mental health treatment.
  • Centre for Therapy does not employ therapists. Therapists listed on the site are independent practitioners.
  • Centre for Therapy does not vet, endorse, or recommend any individual therapist. Profile information is submitted and maintained by therapists themselves. We encourage you to verify credentials independently — see our 30-second guide to checking credentials.
  • Centre for Therapy is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate distress or danger, please contact emergency services (999 in the UK) or a crisis line such as Samaritans (116 123).

The therapeutic relationship

Any therapeutic relationship is solely between you and the therapist you choose to contact. Centre for Therapy plays no part in that relationship. We are not a party to any agreement, contract, or arrangement between you and a therapist, and we accept no responsibility for the conduct, advice, or outcomes of any therapy undertaken.

Profile content accuracy

Therapists are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and currency of their own profile content, including qualifications, fees, availability, and contact details. Centre for Therapy does not independently verify this information. If you believe a profile contains inaccurate or misleading information, please contact us at hello@centrefortherapy.com.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Centre for Therapy accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from:

  • your use of or inability to use the site;
  • reliance on any information published on the site;
  • any interaction with or therapy undertaken with a therapist found through the site;
  • temporary unavailability of the site.

For therapists

By creating a profile on Centre for Therapy you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information about your qualifications, experience, fees, and availability.
  • Keep your profile up to date, including promptly removing or updating your profile if your registration or accreditation status changes.
  • Comply with the ethical standards of your professional body (for example BACP, UKCP, BPS, HCPC).
  • Not use the platform in a manner that could mislead or harm people seeking therapy.

Centre for Therapy reserves the right to suspend or remove profiles that breach these terms or that we consider to be harmful, inaccurate, or misleading.

Intellectual property

Editorial content on this site (guides, articles, copy) is the property of Centre for Therapy. Therapist profile content remains the property of the therapist who submitted it. By submitting content, therapists grant Centre for Therapy a licence to display it on the site.

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
