Dr Charlie Ingham profile details

About Charlie

I am a clinical psychologist and a parent. Through my many years working in this field, I have developed a love of somatic approaches, and those which allow greater access to our innate wisdom and capacity for healing.

I am privileged to hold space for people in their healing journey and I do that both compassionately and respectfully.

I am neurodivergent and provide a neuro-affirming approach to therapy.

My Experience

I qualified as a clinical psychologist in 2015.

Since qualification I have been working primarily with people healing from early trauma or attachment wounds.

After initially working within adult mental health services in the NHS, I have been drawn to working outside of the medical paradigm of mental health and enjoyed roles in therapeutic acute care, physical health, and most recently in early years services supporting attachment.

My Therapeutic Approaches

I have trained in several therapeutic approaches including eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), internal family systems (IFS), feminist therapy and somatic/body-based therapy including trauma-sensitive yoga.

Testimonials

  • Thank you Charlie for all your wisdom and support. I didn't know what to expect from therapy but I actually enjoyed and looked forward to our sessions! Don't get me wrong it was hard at times and very emotional, especially once I got in touch with some exiles and early upsetting memories. But i always felt 'held' by you, in an emotional sense and I really appreciate that.
