About Roxanna
Person-centred counselling is rooted in the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth and change, given the right conditions.
My role is not to tell you what to do or offer quick fixes, but to walk alongside you with empathy, honesty, and respect, so that together we can create the environment you need to find your own answers and way forward.
I understand, through my own experience of counselling, how powerful it can be to feel truly heard without judgement.
I believe counselling is not only a place to turn when things feel at their lowest, but also a valuable tool for everyday life. It can be a space to think through decisions, talk about problems - big or small - or simply reflect on where you are and where you'd like to be.
If it matters to you, then it matters, and this space is yours to explore whatever feels important.
As a person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the BACP, I offer both in-person and online counselling sessions. My approach is gentle yet empowering.
I aim to help you deepen your self-understanding, build resilience, and develop tools to manage life's challenges in ways that feel right for you.
Individual Therapy
Experience supportive, non-judgmental sessions - available in person, online, or by telephone - where you can feel truly heard, valued, and accepted. Grounded in person-centred counselling, each session is guided by your unique needs and experiences, allowing you to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. This compassionate approach fosters self-awareness, emotional resilience, and meaningful personal growth.Walk and Talk Therapy
Walk and Talk Therapy offers a refreshing alternative to the traditional therapy setting - combining the healing benefits of nature with the supportive core elements of person-centred counselling. Sessions take place outdoors, allowing you to move at your own pace, both physically and emotionally. Being in nature can help reduce stress, enhance mood, and support a greater sense of clarity and calm. As with all person-centred approaches, you lead the way - guided by your unique experiences, needs, and goals - while we walk side by side, creating space for reflection, growth, and deeper self-connection.Meet your counsellor
My path to becoming a person-centred counsellor has been guided by a deep belief in the healing power of being truly heard, accepted, and understood. Over the past five years, I've dedicated myself to studying the person-centred approach - a therapeutic modality that places the individual at the heart of the work, trusting in your natural ability to grow and heal when given the right conditions. Alongside my core training, I completed additional courses that allow me to work safely and ethically with children and young people, particularly those who have faced significant challenges such as grief, trauma, and disruption in their lives. Over the past year and a half, I have been privileged to work with clients through an agency setting who are navigating the long-term impact of historical sexual abuse. This experience has deepened my understanding of trauma and the courage it takes to explore painful past experiences within the safety of the therapeutic relationship. I also currently support clients processing grief - whether from natural causes or following long-term illness - each journey unique and deserving of gentle, compassionate presence. My ongoing commitment to professional development includes advanced training in working with trauma, sexual abuse, and grief, allowing me to offer specialised, sensitive support that honours each person's individual pace and process. I am also qualified to provide counselling online and by telephone, ensuring flexibility while maintaining the same standard of ethical, person-centred care. I hold an enhanced DBS check, full professional insurance, and I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working within their ethical framework.Roxanna Anderson can help with the following areas of counselling

Why the humming bird on my website?
Firstly why I chose a hummingbird - The hummingbird is a powerful symbol of healing, resilience, and hope-qualities that beautifully reflect the journey of personal growth through counselling.
Despite its small size, the hummingbird is incredibly strong, adaptable, and persistent. It can travel great distances, navigate storms, and hover with grace and precision-all while seeking out the sweetness in life. In many cultures, the hummingbird represents joy, renewal, and the ability to move forward with lightness and courage, even after difficult times.
In person-centred counselling, the focus is on your inner strength and capacity to heal. Like the hummingbird, you have the ability to face challenges, adapt, and find meaning and connection in your own time and way. Choosing this symbol felt like a natural expression of the therapeutic space I offer-one that honours your unique journey, encourages resilience, and supports healing through gentle, compassionate understanding.
